I am Redwan Ahmed Rizvee, currently pursuing PhD in Computer Science at University of Massachusetts Amherst. I am part of DREAM Lab (Link) and fortunate enough to work under the supervision of Dr. Alexandra Meliou. My current research focuses on the challenge of making datasets interpretable and explainable in real-time. I develop perception-aware sampling algorithms that bridge statistical learning theory with computational aspects to preserve visual fidelity in big data visualization. Broadly, I am interested in Data Mining, Data Analytics and Database Theory, specifically designing scalable systems.
I completed my B.Sc and MS from the same department, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, University of Dhaka (CSEDU). In the past I worked as a Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at East West University from 2022 to 2023. I also worked as a research scientist in TigerIT Bangladesh Limited from 2021 to 2022. I have been an active member of our Data Mining and Machine Learning Research Lab since my undergrad. I am also a part of Cognitive Agents and Interaction Lab, working as a Co-Investigator with Dr. Mosaddek Khan. I have completed my B.Sc and MS thesis under the supervision of Dr. Chowdhury Farhan Ahmed.
I love to learn new things and think about different research problems. I also love to take photos and watch zillions of movies and series. You can find a glimpse of those here.
One of my favorite personal projects, COLAS - Copy Checker for Detecting Source Code Plagiarism, where I built everything from scratch is currently online. Please have a look and let me know your feedback! I will work on it to improve the quality. COLAS Contest Platform is also online! Please have a look here [COLAS-CONTEST].
